BLACKPOOL NS 28/4/21

On a cold windy day on greens with little growth a score of 46 points from the LONGRIDGE duo of AARON HERBERT & ANDY TAYLOR spreadeagled the rest of the field..it was a great score indeed. Joint top in the PROSECTION were ROB BRAITHWAITE and JAMES BARR with MARK ASHWORTH being top SENIOR PRO.. leading seniors were STOPFORTH & HARKIN with WOODFINE & HARRIES leading the superseniors home. the pro am winners were LUKE BURROWS & DES (NEVER GIVE UP )KELLY who made some very interesting additions to LUKES excellent play..next week we are at PIKE FOLD with full bar and catering on offer.. see you there JOHN & TONY

PIKE FOLD 21/4/21

A chilly wind and some tough pins made scoring difficult at PIKE FOLD yesterday,,, Top scorers were D JONES & A BURGESS with J MURPHY & M JOHNSON winning the PRO-AM section,,leading seniors were J BENNETT & S RIGBY with C ROGERS & J PIRRIE winning the superseniors..in the PRO SECTION MARK YOUNG continues to impress with a fine 41 points' Next week we are at BLACKPOOL NORTH SHORE using our normal teetimes. KNOTT END 14/4/21

ROBIN COPE & MICK REDPATH scored a superb 47 points at KNOTT END yesterday to win by 3 from a strong alliance field..a great score on tricky early season greens..Top seniors were STEVE MCDERMOTT & ALAN LEY with MICK BRADSHAW & HYMIE CLARKE winning the SUPERSENIORS..In the PRO AM section the LONGRIDGE duo of YOUNG & HERBERT won again..Top pro was MARK ASHWORTH with ANTHONY SPROSTON winning the senior PROPRIZE..Next week we are at PIKE FOLD where catering and full bar bar facilities will be available using the marquis close to the 18th green..see you all there JOHN & TONY

HEYSHAM GC 7/4/21

An extremely cold wind on comeback day 2021 made the immaculate HEYSHAM GC play difficult for all except our own EUROPROTOUR player MARK YOUNG who waltzed round in 6 under par 42 points, a great score in the conditions. Top prize went to BARRY ACKERLEY & DAVE HOLLERAN on 45 points...Dave made an ace on 16 !! Leading seniors were MICK REDPATH & GARY HARPER with RAY STANDRING & RON KENNY grabbing the SUPERSENIORS. In the Pro Am section MARK YOUNG & AARRON HERBERT prevailed on 45 points..Leading senior pros were ANTHONY SPROSTON & 60 YEAR OLD STEPHEN NICHOLLS..Next week we are at KNOTT END GC with normal starting times PLEASE BE AWARE THERE WILL BE NO CATERING ON THE DAY..COFFEE WILL BE AVAILABLE Regs JOHN & TONY

MR JIMMY SWIFT 1937 -2021

A Very sad day today as we hear of the passing of our great friend MR Jimmy Swift, Jimmy died at home today after a brave battle with cancer . He will be sorely missed. Jimmy a longtime member of Preston GC and alliance supporter since the mid eighties had many friends through his love of golf and his wit and friendly approach was simply unique .The alliance fixture at Preston this season will be played for "The JIMMY SWIFT CUP " as a tribute to Jimmy and will become an annual fixture in our calendar. Details of his funeral will appear on this page when they are available. RIP SWIFTY
